WHAT WE DO

Our key focus is to extend education to disadvantaged children and youth throughout Ghana, because we believe education is a vital foundation in creating social and economic development. A lack of education results in high unemployment, crime, and unskilled workforce. By equipping the children with knowledge and skills, we can provide them with a springboard to live up to their potential, and create new opportunities within the country, and reinvest back into their communities.

Before the Lovelace Foundation takes on any project we go through an evaluation process based on a thorough assessment. On-site inspections are carried out and one-on-one interviews are held with teachers and randomly selected students to talk about concerns and needs. We also meet with community leaders and visit local businesses to discuss employment opportunities and ways on how to make sustainable living the new normal.

Our activities range from construction of educational facilities to provide basic education, to deploying basic healthcare programmes within the most at risk communities. Poor health and a higher than average child mortality rate are significant factors why many children in Ghana do not complete their education. Therefore, basic healthcare programmes are deployed in strategic areas to counteract the risk factors.

As a registered charity in Ghana, we rely solely upon generous donations and gifts-in kind from a variety of sources to continue our work. These include contributions from grant making trusts, private companies, public bodies, community organisations and individuals.

We are extremely grateful to all our funders, not only for your generosity, but also for your enthusiasm and shared belief in what we do. Without your support we most certainly wouldn’t be where we are today. Thank you!
